Bringing a Greener Tomorrow, Today
The Dart Ferry range was designed from the outset to provide a lightweight, fuel-efficient, low-maintenance, cost-effective ferry.
Looking to the Future
The Dart Ferry Project was established to provide a fuel-efficient, low-emission ferry suitable for longer outer harbour ferry routes and capable of handling rough water conditions using proven cost-effective technology.
The Dart Ferry design process has considered the future conversion of Dart Ferries to hybrid electric systems once technology becomes more proven and cost-effective. The central hull has been allocated for future battery installation and the hull design has taken into account the potential for jet drives or propellor drives.
1. Lightweight Design
Using composite materials and resin-infused technology, Dart Ferries are much lighter than traditional aluminium vessels, improving efficiency.
2. Fuel Efficiency
The lightweight build, efficient hull design, advanced foil technology and a stream lined super structure combines to create a more efficient vessel with reduced fuel consumption.
3. Advanced Engine Technology
Scania engines with the latest engine management system and high-pressure injection ensure excellent fuel economy and low emissions for Dart Ferries.
4. Cost-Effective Construction
Through a semi-production process and expert partnerships, Dart Ferries are constructed at a lower cost per passenger.
